Okay, so is it weird that I HATE cleaning, yet get really excited about new cleaning tech? Like the CrossWave from Bissell, which vacuums and washes and can be used on hard floors and carpet, ALL IN ONE GO?! Come on, don’t pretend you’re not impressed.
I’m already using Bissell’s Revolution carpet cleaner at home and have been super impressed with the results. Having bought a house that was previously a rental, it was great to give the carpets a deep clean, and I was both thrilled and horrified at how dirty the water was post-wash. But could the CrossWave be an even better buy?
My contact at Bissell says it will deliver the same cleaning power as the Revolution through its textured brush roller that scrubs and washes, so you can use it on hard floors and rugs. And because it can vacuum, too, you’ll have one less machine to find space for.I gave it a quick run around our reception area and found it reasonably lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, with a low-profile head that can dive under furniture with no trouble at all.
Even cleaning the CrossWave is a doddle. You don’t have to remove the roller – just plonk it in its cleaning tray with some clean water, press the ‘hard floor’ button’ and leave it to run for 15 minutes, or until all the water is picked up.
Suitable for use on rugs, tiles, sealed wooden floors, laminate, lino, and vinyl, the CrossWave is available from bisselldirect.co.uk, Amazon, Lakeland and QVC, and costs £249.99. I can’t wait to try it out properly. AmyTweet
